Elizabeth Taylor in the titular role of CLEOPATRA
Does anyone really think that the real Cleopatra spent her days pampering herself like this? I know it's a genre cliché to show a Queen luxuriating in her wealth and vanity but I doubt it looked something like this. Taylor played Cleopatra like "Cleopatra Egyptian Barbie Set."

I think that maybe Cleo did do pampering especially for special occasions, otherwise she was probably more of an "Iron Lady" type ruler. My opinion is that the movie CLEOPATRA was made to show off Liz's beauty rather than stick to Historical Fact.
