Marina Berti and Leo Genn in one of the many pivotal scenes in QUO VADIS?

I streamed this movie last night. For me, the film seems to be getting better with age. Leo Genn, as Petronius, is such a great actor that many seem to forget when they mention Peter Ustinov's great turn as Nero. IMO, without Genn's Petronius, Ustinov's Nero would have been too much or would have veered into camp. Genn helped keep Ustinov's acting from going over the edge.

Leo Genn was a great actor who made many outstanding films (THE WOODEN HORSE, ESCAPE BY NIGHT, LADY CHATTERLY'S LOVER). His portrayal of Petronuis in QUO VADIS was outstanding and he seemed to keep Nero in check. Ustinov's Nero is by far the best I've seen ever portrayed.
