Behind-the-scenes action for CLEOPATRA (1963); no CGI here, just the real stuff

This is how you make a True Spectacle! I've seen many movies that use the CGI method and in some cases it is done right and you really can't tell the difference, but there are a ton of TURKEYS out there. I long for the Cast of Thousands Epic. I have a question for you. What movie do you think was the last Epic to use thousands of extras? My guess is BRAVEHEART.

Even big budgeted productions look fake like TROY or IMMORTALS.

The last Cast of THousands? I only saw BRAVEHEART once but I don't recall big Cast of Thousands scenes from it. 13th WARRIOR was made after BRAVEHEART. It might not have COT scenes but the battles scenes are all real and there are hundreds of men on horses. And GLADIATOR does have those big battle scenes at the beginning and those scenes are not CGI.

I had to answer you and I can say that as far as the amount of extras used in movies BRAVEHEART & GLADIATOR they are basically the same in the area of 2,000 give or take a few. KING ARTHUR & KINGDOM OF HEAVEN also had about the same amount. Even though it wasn't a PEP film GETTSYBURG had 10,000 or so Renactors as did GODS AND GENERALS. A great Fire & Sword movie known as ZULU DAWN had several thousand extras also.
