Claudia was born in 1944, which means she was 19 years old when she made this movie! Her co-star, Adriano Micantoni, the main villain in the story, was 42! PEPLUM productions had a knack of hiring really young actresses.

Claudia was indeed beautiful.
Her elaborate piled up hairdo was more authentic than were the simpler hairstyles of many other Patrician ladies depicted in Peplum movies.
Upper class Roman women had a female body slave know as an ornatrix (from which the word ornament is derived) just to work on their hair. Often a metal frame on top of the head supported an elaborate high rise hairstyle.
Patrician ladies often wore red, blond, or brunette wigs made from the hair of northern European (Gauls and Britons)female slaves. Such a slave could be expected to be sheared regularly, just like a sheep.
