I have this film and I'll give a brief overview soon after I watch it. Visually it looks good, better than most cheap productions made today or in the 1980s. But I doubt the acting and screenplay are compelling.
Did you ever see Agora (2009)? It's a film about Hypatia, the philosopher and mathematician. The most amazing thing about that movie is the recreation of the city of Alexandria. Very impressive.
I've seen AGORA (I have AGORA in my collection). I agree that the recreation is spectacular. The film had a $65 million budget so that probably helped. :-)
