Goran Visnjic and Rhona Mitra in the SPARTACUS mini-series broadcast in 2004

I've never seen this production so I can't comment on it. I've heard good and really bad things about it. I have a beautiful copy of this and I'll probably watch it for the first time on PEPLUM TV. They claim it's not a remake of the Kubrick/Douglas film but scanning it quickly the beginning looked identical.

The beginning does resemble the older one, but that ends a little later. The overall story more closely follows the revolt and the split between the slaves which led to the demise of Spartacus. I personally like this version very much, and it is very well made. Judge for yourself and I'm looking forward to read your comments.

It is not Kubrick but, still, a very well done TV movie, faithfull to real history. The new series is like a charade for mad teenagers.
