Lang Jeffries and Cristina Gaioni in FIRE OVER ROME

This film gets a bum rap. It's actually pretty good. Except for the scenes with Nero and Poppaea, which are weak, and Cristina's anachronistic wig, the rest is solid. It always being compared to QUO VADIS but it's more down to earth and the way the burning of Rome evolves into is apparently more accurate than the latter film.

This is a good film. I agree that Cristina's wig was ugly. My opinion is it ruined her true beauty. The producers of this film I think had no intention of copying QUO VADIS. Who really was to blame for the burning of Rome? The buildings in the Ghettos of the city were a tinder box and anyone or anything could of started it. I've read that Nero and his cronies were nowhere near the city when the fire broke out, and this just helped his plans to build a bigger palace and new temples etc.
