I already posted about
STAR TREK and
SPACE 1999 and their PEPLUM influences/episodes. Now here's GILLIGAN'S ISLAND and its amazing PEPLUM pedigree. Only Bob Denver and Dawn Wells haven't appeared in a PEPLUM type of film. Natalie Schafer, who played Mrs. Lovey Howell on the show, appeared in a couple of costume dramas such as ANASTASIA.
The gorgeous Tina Louise, Ginger on GI, starred in two great Italian PEPLUM films: SIEGE OF SYRACUSE and SAPPHO THE VENUS OF LESBOS, both directed by Pietro Francisci. Tina has left an indelible mark in the PEPLUM universe.
Thurston Howell III was played by Jim Backus on GILLIGAN'S ISLAND who was a Roman soldier in ANDROCLES & THE LION
Russell Johnson, the Professor, was a gladiator in DEMETRIUS & THE GLADIATORS. I believe that's him on the far right.
And last but not leastAlan Hale Jr., the Skipper, also made several Swashbucklers including CAPTAIN KIDD & THE SLAVE GIRL
