I saw part of the clip and it's cringe but I don't want to attack her. I think she's being put on a terrible position (by the folks behind the scenes). Yes, she accepted the role, as controversial as it is, but I think they're using her. She's in over her head.
You have to remember that the director specifically used the a controversial translation of Homer's Odyssey from a hard line feminist, Emily Wilson, even if there are way better translations out there. This is intentional.
