Chelo Alonso in ATLAS IN THE LAND OF THE CYCLOPS (1961)
As one can see in this image, Chelo, as Capys, is about to kill someone. It's a ruthless act. But the movie itself tries to portray her in a sympathetic way, and it works. It's different than most portrayal. An Evil Queen who is actually nice. And this is why I like this movie. She doesn't play it in a cartoon character way like many villains are portrayed. She not a good person (she wants a baby to be sacrificed...) but we she that she feels stuck in her position as a ruler. It's fun to watch. I think they succeeded more than most PEPLUM movies. It also helps that Chelo looks great!
