Lana Turner and Edmund Purdom on the set of THE PRODIGAL (1955). In real life, Lana wasn't, let's just say, a fan of Edmund.

What's the scoop between Lana and Edmund? I always bemoan the fact that he got the lead in The Egyptian, it would have been great with Marlon Brando when he was still in shape.
Lana disliked him immensely. It's not Edmund's fault that he starred in THE EGYPTIAN. Marlon disliked the director and bailed out. Edmund was last minute replacement. In fact, most of Edmund's role were last minute replacements... When Lana was set to make DIANE, Edmund was going to play her romantic lead and after her experience with THE PRODIGAL she told the studio she refused to work with him again. Roger Moore got that role.
