One of those films I can watch on a regular basis. A solid Roman adventure. My only complaint, if it should be regarded as a complaint, is the lack of sets. A huge part of the film was shot outside in a forest with few expensive sets to give it a sexy gleam of glamor.

I agree with you on the lack of sets for this very fine Roman adventure, but I don't mind it at all. This movie I think actually captures the way it was in the wilderness of ancient Gaul during Caesar's campaign to conquer the land.
Guy Madison certainly was a very pretty addition to the Peplum genre.
