Richard Greene and Yvonne de Carlo in DESERT HAWK (1950)
One of those mostly studio-bound Arabian adventures made in the 1940s and early 1950s. Very colourful and good production, Greene wasn't suited for the role though. His proper English accent was too polished for such a film.

In my view this is the best of the Technicolor Arabian Nights fantasy films of the late 40s and early 50s.
"Slave Girl" (also with Yvonne de Carlo) has idiotic talking camels, and is not available in a DVD of watchable quality.
"Adventures of Hajji Baba"(correct spelling) has an unpleasant theme of hanging people up to die of thirst (sort of like crucifixion), which makes it impossible to sympathize with the leader of the Turkomen women.
"Chu Chin Chow" is not perfect, but Anna May Wong is always watching.
The very limited acting ability of Maria Montez handicaps here three entries in this genre.
