The ending from MASADA with General Cornelius Flavius Silva (Peter O'Toole) finding Eleazar ben Yair (Peter Strauss) dead from suicide

Now I know some might think this is a spoiler but the history (or myth) of the battle of Masada is pretty well known and as been known for centuries so no it's not a spoiler. I originally saw the mini-series back in 1981 but haven't seen it since. I need to watch it again one day to re-evaluate it and Peter O'Toole's performance in it, certainly since he died last weekend. The mini-series is over 6 hours long.

Back on Monday!

It was, for me, one of the most memorable things I've seen in my life. I still remember parts of it and run them through my mind while I'm driving.

If you ever read the book THE ANTAGONISTS I think the series comes very close to it, and I think Peter O'Toole played his part very well. There is no myth to Masada because part of the ramp the Romans built still exist today.
