Behind-the-Scenes

Richard Harrison in an intimate moment with girlfriend (?) while shooting PERSEUS THE INVINCIBLE (1963 ; aka Medusa vs the Son of Hercules). This photo was used for a Mexican lobby card but it was a mistake as the lady in the photo is NOT in the film itself and she's dressed in (then) modern clothes. And the two are sitting on a set of movie chairs.

I'm pretty sure this is Harrison's wife at that time, American-International Pictures head James H. Nicholson's daughter, Loretta.

Unfortunately, things were not as rosy as this picture would imply, and she revealed a real horror story about their failed marriage (including being a battered wife) in a thread on the Classic Horror Films Board back in 2018.

It's his wife Loretta, daughter of James Nicholson who was one of the heads of American-International Pictures.

Thanks for the link.

This post has taken an odd turn. I posted the Behind the scenes image because I thought it was funny to find it on a Mexican lobby card. I wasn't looking for the identity of the woman. So I read the thread at the link.

That thread is a hot mess. So much misinformation and all around sadness.

I've been aware of Richard Harrison's issues for a long time. One of his friends, who used to have a Youtube channel, communicated with me back in the day. And I was privy to this info back then. It's not the kind of stuff I seek out so I stopped communicating with him.

I once spent a really lovely afternoon with RIchard Harrison at his home in Malibu many years ago. He struck me as such a nice guy. I was shocked to read all this negative stuff about him.
