By the Gods!

Maciste (Kirk Morris) vs a group of young men in TRIUMPH OF MACISTE (1961)

The scene when we're first introduced to Maciste (or Kirk Morris). Maciste wins this challenge. This was Kirk Morris' first film. What was the first Maciste film that resurrected the character in the 1960s? It wasn't this one. It came close though. SON OF SAMSON (1960; aka Maciste nella valle dei Re) is considered the first 'new' Maciste film. This one was the fourth, released in October of 1961 in Italy. A classic.

I made a Fan Dub of this and another Youtube channel claimed it and the version they uploaded to their channel is my Fan Dub. I can't do anything about it. So yeah, my stuff is everywhere on Youtube and other people are profiting from my work while I can't. This is why it's important to support my channels and blogs.

Maciste is one of the most versatile characters in movie history, so resurrecting him was a stroke of genius. Though, the filmmakers could've sent him into even more strange adventures out of his historic settings, into the future, for example. I always thought that British comic hero Garth had very much indeed in common with Maciste.
