Paulette Goddard is Jezebel in SINS OF JEZEBEL (1953)
One of the stories from the bible which, imo, should have a big budget treatment. This movie had a low budget and doesn't do the quasi-epic story of Jezebel vs Elijah justice. George Nader (not pictured) plays Jehu and the romance aspects of the story is pure fiction, which is fine, but it hardly reflects what's in the bible. Finding a decent copy of this or even publicity stills are hard to get.

VCI put out a very nice DVD of it several years ago but no matter how good it looks it is still Sins of Jezebel. There is a chapter on the making of it in the new Hollywood and the Bible book by Gary Smith.
I have the VCI version and it's still pretty much meh. Thanks for the tip on the book.
