The bloody historical moment was spoofed in CARRY ON CLEO (1964), with Kenneth Williams as Julius Caesar: Infamy, infamy. They've all got it in for me.

At least they could have given him a dagger to defend himself. Some cronicles say he fought hard back. It would have been a good fight and a good scene Cesar and Antony repelling together that horde.
