By the Gods!

Steve Reeves as Captain Morgan in MORGAN, THE PIRATE (1960)

This is a quality production: sets, costumes, music, locations, cast, etc. It's one of Steve's best. Reeves often complained that people only remembered him for playing Hercules. He was sorta right. This one is as memorable as his HERCULES movies. Steve's face looks like it was chiseled by Michelango. Comic book artists often used him as a model for their drawings.

A really first class pirate flick. Actually one of the best in the entire genre and one of Steve's best.

That was a good year for Reeves as both Morgan the Pirate and Thief of Bagdad are two of his very best films. When I corresponded with him many years ago he told me he was particularly proud of those two

Reeves was probably an influence on comic book depictions of Hercules by both Marvel Comics and Charlton Comics in the 1960s.
