US lobby cards set of THE CONQUEROR (1956) starring John Wayne and Susan Hayward. Pretty good set. Card number 2, 3 and 7 are the best (or most sought after). Could have used one more card with both actors but the set gives the impression of grandeur.

THE CONQUEROR is a totally bizarre Asian "western" that veers into unintentional campyness.
Mildly enjoyable but totally ridiculous.
Though it certainly wasn't intentional, this became one of the weirdest movies ever made! But, it's a subtle weirdness.
I don't get the negative comments hurled at this movie. Wayne is miscast but it is still a fine film. I also don't get why Scott has to comment on everything.

Generally I find your comments are quite worthwhile, despite your general reluctance to criticize even distinctly poor Peplum movies.
The concept of cinema in the Ancient World will never be taken seriously if even rotten movies get only "softball" criticism.
