Thinking about Steve Reeves and all the chiselled guys that followed him from the US to Italy.. What a missed opportunity for the American movie industry. Hollywood was seldom able to give these guys decent roles to display the acting talents that many of them actually had. My favorite example is Gordon Scott, who was a physically capable Tarzan in the US, but was served with scripts that did nothing with the character. The Italian Peplums gave him roles that allowed him to become a much more varied action hero.
But Hollywood's loss is our gain.
