By the Gods!

Hercules (Maciste in the original ; Alan Steel) is put to the test of his life in HERCULES AGAINST THE MOON MEN (1964)

Classic scene! Probably the most unfairly maligned PEPLUM film of the entire genre. This film is actually fun, action-packed and with some amazing imagery. And Alan is in top form. Yes, this contraption is over-the-top but who care when the scene is this good and memorable.

Coming soon to PEPLUM TV.

Alan Steel is the perfect Hercules I reckon. He's thick, beefy, muscular and perfect combo of fat and muscle. No visible abs muscle but that what makes him authentically strongman-like during ancient times.

This is one of my very favorite Peplums. I have never been able to understand all the negativity flung at this film. It's like they had to pick ONE Peplum to fling shit at, and this poor film was the random victim.
This movie is relentless in its ambition to entertain. It's also like a checklist of what's clasically "Peplum", with monsters, a kingdom in peril, death traps, feats of strength for the hero, evil ladies with potions -the list goes on. Compare this to the lauded Hercules In the Haunted World, which looks pretty, but is numbingly dull at times.
