Virginia Mayo and Conrado San Martin in REVOLT OF THE MERCENARIES
I finally got several copies of this film (one is on Youtube). For some reason this film has always escaped me. I got it confused with REVENGE OF THE MERCENARIES, which I have. Production values for this is much higher than the average PEPLUM production of the time. Virginia Mayo was also in THE SILVER CHALICE, and it's safe to say that her career didn't hit the stratosphere but I sorta like her. Conrado is a familiar face in the PEPLUM genre (COLOSSUS OF RHODES, LEGIONS OF THE NILE, etc). I jet need an English copy of this for a possible Fan Dub.

Virginia Mayo was cute and was a perfectly good actress.
Her best roles were as the female lead in "The Princess and the Pirate" (Bob Hope), "Captain Horatio Hornblower" (Gregory Peck), and "The Flame and the Arrow" (Burt Lancaster).
Admittedly "The Silver Chalice" was a really terrible movie, but that was due to a horrible script, not to any faults by its leading actors.
