Sad news to report that Rossana Podestà has died today. She was 79 years old. A star of many PEPLUM films she was one of the few actresses of the genre to make it in a big Hollywood production, HELEN OF TROY (pictured above). If you want to read more about Rossana you can check this out : link

Very sad, she was one of my all time favorite actresses. May she rest in peace.
I thought she was perfect as Helen of Troy. While never in the Gina or Sophia league she had a good career, also like her in Sodom & Gomorrah.
IMHO with Sylva Koscina, Wandisa Guida and Jose Greci, Rossana was among the most beautiful of the Pepla actresses.
I was in Italy at a press event about 10 years ago and asked about her. The Italians at my table said she was hosting a women's daytime talk show and had just married a boy toy ... tongues were wagging but that was Rossana Podesta.
