30 Greatest Moments of PEPLUM Cinema: #7 - 'Your name is love!' from HERCULES UNCHAINED

Counting down the top ten and this scene stands at #7 on the list.

Another classic moment from HERCULES UNCHAINED: the combination of everything, the sexy actors, the dancers, the music and dialogue makes this one of the most memorable moments of PEPLUM cinema. The director made an almost identical scene in THE QUEEN OF SHEBA a few years before this film but this moment beats it by a long shot.

With Steve Reeves, Sylvia Lopez, Gabriele Antonini and Colleen Bennet as the main dancer. Directed by Pietro Francisci.

The precision and timing of this scene, where the supporting dancers all moved in perfect unison, the element of Ulysses arriving and departing, the beautiful coloring of the environment impressed me greatly. Usually, peplum dancers are not always unified in their movement; there is always one or two who are too slow or too fast. Not so, this time. The only negative thing I noticed was at the very end, when Hercules bends down to kiss the Queen, and his beard looked unkempt. That is about it.
