30 Greatest Moments of PEPLUM Cinema: #10 - 'Chariot Race' from THEODORA - SLAVE EMPRESS

Counting down the top ten and this scene stands at #10 on the list.

Spectacular, elaborate chariot race scene. Great film starring a slew of PEPLUM actors including Gianna Maria Canale and Georges Marchal; directed by Riccardo Freda and released in 1954.

But I don't understand. She was driving BLACK horses against the white horses of the Emperor, and yet she won? That isn't supposed to happen. It sure didn't in Ben Hur! Somebody messed up. However, you are right about the filming of the race. You really felt the passion and the dust of the thing. Nice, big set, too.
