Horst Buchholz is Marco Polo in MARCO THE MAGNIFICENT

One of those films which have eluded me for many years. It's a typical all-star cast production from the 1960s which received (and still receiving) brutal reviews. Because I haven't seen it I can't give an opinion about it. The one thing I do know is that the production started filming with Alain Delon but he was let go or had to leave, for unknown reasons, and Horst replaced Delon.

I saw this version along time ago. The movie had a huge cast of Interna tional Stars, and to me it seemed to be a lot different than other versions. Bad reviews may have been from a sort of Revisionist telling of Polo. There is a lot of action in it and spectacle. Can you tell me if there is any DVDS of this available?? This is on the "Wish List".

It is available on DVD-R under the title KUBLA KHAN in a fairly good quality, full screen, English language, 108 minute print from Video Screams
