Fashion of the Day: Chlamida

Here's an example of a chlamida, a Greek piece of clothing. Chlamida is the original Greek name for these and I had a difficult time finding this on the web as everything I searched ended up being about the venereal disease that sounds like it. Oy! Is anyone today up to wearing one of these? No clothes underneath just the chlamida, as the last photo shows. I imagine only men wore these.

I imagine that the men that wore these were warriors, maybe I'm wrong but I'm just guessing.

Who is the man in the color photo? (Or, what film is this from?)
