SHIELDS in PEPLUM films

When I watch a Sword & Sandal film I always check out the shields. They are my favourite props in these films and they usually indicate a lot about the quality of the film itself. This is a new feature here at the blog. I'll try (and try is the word) to catalog every shield from every PEPLUM film and upload them to this permanent Blog page. Because there are hundreds of films and I need to view them from beginning to end, it's going to be a work in progress. These are the two first examples.

From JULIUS CAESAR

The film doesn't have a lot of shields mainly because it's from a play by Shakespeare, except for the brief battle sequence at the end.

From THE MINOTAUR

The crescent shield is one of my favourite shield from any PEPLUM film. They're so cool I would like to own one.

It's funny I always check out the shields myself. There are some really neat ones especially the gladiator shields, and also the barbarian ones with the fur all over and around them.
